An RSS feed is a web news feed format which you can use to keep up to date with pages from the David Lloyd website.
A news or RSS feed allows you to see when the site has been updated by having the news headlines brought to you in a standardised format.
An RSS feed may have many articles in it, and it usually contains information about who published the content, when they published it and a summary of the article content itself.
RSS feeds can be read by a feed reader or aggregator, which will check the feeds to see if there have been any updates. A feed reader can be part of your web browser, or you may want to download a stand-alone application which can be run from the desktop of your computer. Some readers work on mobile phones and PDAs.
Some browsers, including Firefox, Opera and Safari will automatically check for feeds when you visit a website - an icon will display when they find one. For more details on these, please check their websites.
Once you have a feed reader, you just need to choose which feeds you want to subscribe to. To do this, click on the RSS icon displayed on the website or, if you know it, copy and paste (or drag) the address of the feed into your news feed reader.
RSS is most commonly translated as "Really Simple Syndication" but sometimes "Rich Site Summary".
